Week 19 – Boy or Girl?

We are still not sure. From the scan, OB said he couldn’t see anything sticking out in between baby’s legs, but he also didn’t want to confirm that it’s a girl. Because there is also a possibility that this can turn out to be a boy. For me and hubby, it really doesn’t matter, boy or girl also good as long as healthy. But we do hope to be able to confirm the gender before we go shopping for baby’s stuffs so that we can buy the correct things, or else we’ll just buy the neutral colour ones, hehe. Oh baby, don’t keep the suspense too long ok?

Come to the more important part, how’s baby doing now? She’s still very active inside, we could see she twisted and turned during the scanning. There’s some fluid inside her tummy and bladder. OB said this indicates that baby starts to swallow fluid already, and her kidney is working fine since there’s fluid in the bladder. Overall, baby is healthy, organs are working properly. OB also showed us the baby’s facial, legs, hands and toes. Baby kicks a little when OB asked her to give mommy a big kick. After that, she started to stay quiet already. We are able to get a scanned image that shows baby with mouth opened. From the image, we can also see her four fingers there, thumb is hidden. We are happy that our baby is doing fine.
