Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Lilypie First Birthday tickers

When did I find out?

Very early – when my period was late for only 2 days, the pregnancy test kit showed positive result. I guess having regular menstrual cycles help. That month, I was being particularly anxious to test whether I’m pregnant or not, that’s why I tested so early. I was supposed to test with the pregnancy kit only when my period is late for at least 5 days, so that there will be much more hCG hormone in my system to show the positive result. Anyway, it’s good to find out earlier.

The exact date that I found out was on the 5th of January 2008. I was trying to be creative when breaking the news to my hubby. Well, I packed the pregnancy kit with the positive result into a sunglasses case (cheap one), pretending it to be my anniversary gift to him (well, our 2nd anniversary was only 1 week later). I told him “Dear, I already bought you an anniversary gift and I can’t wait until next week to give it to you, so I’ll give it now lah”. When he opened the case and saw the kit, he said “Ooh ooh you are pregnant, I’m gonna be a dad!”

To us, it was really good news to start a brand new year. I was already 4 weeks pregnant then. From the medical point of view, pregnancy is counted from the first day of a woman’s last period. This means that at conception, the unborn child is already considered two weeks old, hehe. A full term pregnancy is 40 weeks, so I still have a long way to go. What’s next? Appointment with the OB, of course!
